The Macedon Garden Club is participating in the Blue Star Memorial Marker Program. It was initiated in 1945 to honor the men and women serving in the Armed Forces during World War II, and garden clubs envisioned a ribbon of living memorial plantings crossing every state. The project name was chosen for the star on flags displayed in homes and businesses, which denoted a family member serving. The Garden Club just completed planting 100 daffodil bulbs. They will be raising funds for markers to pay tribute to the armed forces as a whole.
Chief Colella updated the Board on his attendance at the Highway Traffic Symposium. The Town will receive additional funding for the Buckle Up New York program. As part of their community outreach program, the Police Department held the Safe Seniors Program at Parkwood Heights

John Murphy stated the original request of $125,000 was reduced to $99,400. This represents the 70% Town share of the fire budget request.
Councilman Maul – The Village has eliminated the workman’s comp, lowered equipment and requested less reserve.
Councilman Kenyon – There was a concern the Village had not validated the new coverage for firemen outside the Village boundaries.
John Murphy – They have always had coverage and have always been covered in the Town. The County could not break out the cost for the firemen. Perma’s coverage is less and covers regardless of the physical area.
If their request is approved, the amount for the Village Fire amount will go from $88,900 in the Preliminary Budget to $99,400, an increase of $10,500 or 14% from last year.
All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard the public hearing was closed.
RESOLVED that the Public Hearing be closed at 8:59 p.m.
