A Regular Meeting of the Town
Board of the Town of Macedon held August 13, 2009 at the Town Offices, 32 Main
Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William
Hammond at 7:30 P.M.

Summer Recreation directors,Chris Greer and Jenn Copp gave an end of the season presentation on the success of this years summer program. They averaged 71 campers per day and had a total attendance of 2058 children through the six week program.
The goals for next year are to reach out to other communities for additional children.
Send out E-mail news letters to remind parents of upcoming events and have a day of training for staff before camp starts. They also are looking into software for online registration and payment for recreation programs.
Police Chief Colella spoke on the Taser Training Program that his department underwent. The officer needs to now the consequences of use, so they can testify in court that use was needed. He also notified the Board that as of January 1st they can not use the ink rolled fingerprint cards. They need to be live scan digital fingerprints and the new equipment runs $28,000. This new process prevents flawed fingerprint results and is transmitted automatically to Albany. There is one currently in Lyons, the hope is to get one on the westside and one on the eastside of the county.
Todd Blanchard Director of EMS spoke on the new staff, and the smooth transition. The ambulance crew did a stand by at the Wayne County Fair and will be doing one at the Lumber Jack Festival and the Rochester-Aero Modeling Society Airplane Show.

Speed reduction request for Canandaigua Road between the southerly boundary of the existing 40 mph speed limit and extending approximately 0.4 mile southerly to point south of the curve was denied by NYS Department of Transportation in conjunction with the NYS Police.
Macedon Hills Family Restaurant submitted a renewal application notice for an on-premises alcoholic beverage license.
NYSDOH notification of Macedon Town Consolidated Water District unsatisfactory sample results at the Macedon Center Road chlorination station on 7/7/09.

Bill Hammond wanted to thank all the volunteers that helped the ambulance during the transition.
Dick Roets stated the Bullis Park is all seeded and paving will start around 2nd week of September. He would like Board to meet at Bullis Park before a meeting to set plan for ball fields and decide on barrier to keep vehicles off the grass.
Sandy Pagano reminded Board that Lumber Jack Festival is September 12 and 13.
