7:35 PUBLIC HEARING – MACEDON CENTER VOLUNTEER FIREMEN’S
ASSOCIATION CONTRACT
The proposed contract for the Macedon Center Volunteer Firemen’s Association authorizes $178,397 for the year 2009.
RESOLVED that reading of the legal notice published in the October 13, 2008 issue of the Times be waived.

The increase from last year is due to rising insurance, utilities, fuel, increase in truck fund and a required audit by the comptroller’s office.

With the following resolution the Town is agreeing to participate in the grant to obtain an engineering evaluation and inventory of the Town of Macedon’s traffic signs. The total cost is $12,000 with $9,500 to be refunded from the grant through the Department of Transportation. This study will inventory signs, identify any problems and indicate if any additional signs are required.

RESOLUTION NO. 234 (08) HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SIGN ENGINEERING EVALUTATION & INVENTORY
RESOLVED the Supervisor is authorized to sign contract with Lu Engineering to provide Engineering Evaluation and Inventory of Traffic Signs Contract No. P08-309 and the Town Attorney is authorized to approve the contract to be expensed from contingency A1990.400 to A5132.400.

PROTECTION
CONTRACT
The proposed contract for the Village of Macedon Fire & Ambulance Contract authorizes $88,929 for fire protection for the year 2009.

This contract is $4,256 less than last year. The difference is the equipment reserve reduction and change of workers compensation. The Town Board has requested a letter from the new compensation carrier stating the Village Firemen are covered outside the Village.

Councilman Maul was thanked for his wonderful presentation. Members of the audience complimented the whole Town Board for all their work and keeping the budget level.
The Town of Walworth proposed to cut the funding for the Gananda School Crossing Guard. Supervisor Hammond requested the Board include enough to cover the cost should Walworth not fund in their final budget.
RESOLVED that the Preliminary Budget for the year 2009 be adopted with the following changes:
Page 6 – Revenues under Walworth – Crossing Guard B2210 would change from $3015 to 0 and Fund Balance would be used to offset the $3015.
Page 19 – Fund Balance Appropriation B General Outside the Village would go from $178,411 TO $181,426.

The total to be raised by taxes would remain the same. The Town Accountant stated that the article by the Courier was very well done, however, in the last sentence the total town debt outstanding is $2,175,000, not the amount to be budgeted
RESOLVED the Town Board designate Sally Robinson as Records Access Officer for the Police Department.

RESOLVED the
Macedon Town Board approve the voucher to The Technology Company, 1844 Penfield
Road, Penfield, NY 14526 to be paid out of AF3120.400 in the amount of
$2,751.00 for the computer purchases purchased with federal drug seizure monies
and authorizes the Town Accountant to do the necessary budget adjustments.

RESOLVED the Board appoints John Plumb as Macedon Town Ambulance Board of
Director effective October 23, 2008.

A thank you letter will be sent to Waste Management for the use of their
dozer and Gananda Partnership for the topsoil at Bullis Park.
Councilperson Sandy Pagano attended the New Partners Association run by
Marcy Frey on Monday night. Marcy
proposed four driving points that are being put into place. This is an extension of the Main Street Revitalization.
Attorney Villani will prepare a permissive referendum for the purchase
offer for 2 acres from the Town on Route 31 for the next board meeting.
