Board of the Town of Macedon held July 24, 2008 at the Town Offices, 32 Main
Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William
Hammond 7:30 P.M.

Discussion followed on proposed LL 1-08 Update to NCD Zoning District. The Board was asked to e-mail any changes to Scott Allen.
RESOLVED the Board refunds Mark Graf the ZBA application fee minus clerical expenses in the amount of $50 ($75 - $25 = $50) due to his withdrawal.

WHEREAS Article 7, Section 114 of the Agriculture and Markets Law provides the governing body of any municipality may require the list of names of all persons in the municipality owning or harboring dogs,
AND WHEREAS Article 7, Section 110 Sub 4 (d), license fees, of the Agriculture and Markets Law states in part: any person applying for a dog or purebred license for a dog identified as unlicensed during an enumeration conducted pursuant to subdivision 7 of section 114 of this article shall pay a fee of five dollars ($5.00) in addition to the license fee; and
WHEREAS, for health and safety reasons it is important to the Town of Macedon to ascertain that dogs being harbored in the Town are licensed and up to date on with their rabies shots; and
WHEREAS the Town of Macedon last conducted a dog enumeration in 1998/99
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Macedon Town Board authorizes the Town Clerk to plan and conduct a Dog Census for the Town of Macedon beginning in July 2008 and with the additional charge of $5.00 to be applied to those dogs identified as unlicensed as per Article 7, Section 110 Sub (d).

BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board authorizes Richard Roets, Highway Superintendent, to raise the hourly wage for John Anderson from his current rate of $15.34 per hour to $16.09 per hour, and to raise the hourly wage for Jimmy Ellis from his current rate of $15.34 per hour to $16.09 per hour. This raise is to take effect for the pay period beginning July 19, 2008.

WHEREAS the Towpath Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps has been bringing our “American Heritage to Life” since 1978; and
WHEREAS the organization today has grown to four performing units: “Spirit of ‘76”, Junior Corps, and Honor Guard; and
WHEREAS the Corps welcomes members regardless of musical or marching experience, and prides itself on Family Involvement, Musical Instruction, and American Patriotism; and
WHEREAS the Corps is a not-for-profit corporation where everyone involved volunteers and serves without pay; instead channeling all of its revenues into equipment, uniforms, and the travel expenses of its members; and
WHEREAS the Town of Macedon, NY chooses to recognize thirty years of commitment and service of the Corps and its many members, and in particular its Founders, Paul and Debbie Willson, be it
RESOLVED that August 15th will henceforth be recognized as Towpath Volunteer Day in the township of Macedon, NY; and be it further

RESOLVED that the Town Board expresses its gratitude for the unselfish and continuous service of the entire membership of the Towpath Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps.

UPON REVIEW OF THE CANDIDATDES REVIEWED BE IT RESOLVED the Town Board appoint Ed O’Konsky to the temporary position of PT Police Officer with hours not to exceed 19.5 hours/week effective July 24, 2008 at a rate of 16.00/hour.

Tom Littlefield offered the Town 25,000 yards of gravel from his property on Quaker Road if they have a need for it. The Supervisor will look into.
Discussion followed on the editorial in the Courier. The revenue from Waste Management becomes tax dollars and is spent by spreading it evenly across the entire tax base such as reducing taxes.
It was the consensus to secure the access road on Quaker Road between the town property and Super Seal Sealcoating Company as requested by Mr. Duffy. This will address the dumping issues in the area.
RESOLVED the Town Board enters Executive Session at 8:53 p.m. to discuss a particular personnel issue.
