Board of the Town of Macedon held July 10, 2008 at the Town Offices, 32 Main
Street in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William
Hammond 7:30 P.M.

RESOLVED the Board approves the minutes of June 26, 2008 with the following correction: Page 3 – Lone Wolf not Lone Star

WHEREAS Chief Colella has recommended Officer Earl Lergner IV’s probationary period be considered complete and further requests his rate of pay be increased to the hourly rate of $20.11, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED the Town Board authorizes Officer Earl Lergner’s rate of pay be increased to $20.11/hour effective July 5, 2008 and in accordance with the contract.

Councilperson Kenyon thanked Chief Colella, Highway Superintendent Roets and Town Engineer Allen for their help in the reconstruction of an accident for the Palmyra-Macedon School District.
RESOLVED the Town Board authorizes Chief Colella to purchase, through the Wayne County IT Department at New York State bid pricing, a new HP ProLiant ML 150 G5 Hot Plug SAS/SATA computer server as part of the on going assessment and upgrade of the technology equipment at a cost not to exceed $3,900 to be expensed from the Federal Drug Seizure account No. AF3120.400.

Rick Dodge reported that the ALS started Tuesday night on a part-time basis. Their goal is to use the ALS primarily on weekends. The ambulance response time is 7.5 minutes from the time the call is received to the time they are with the individual.

RESOLVED the reading of the legal notice published in the 6/23/08 issue of the Times is waived.

This local law will update the NCD standards within the zoning code to match current expectations of development in the Town. Councilman Nawrocki requested 60 foot setbacks be required. Councilman McEwen suggested a ratio of multi-family homes to single family be included. Supervisor Hammond asked for any comments to be e-mailed to Scott Allen.
Hearing no public comment the hearing was closed.
RESOLVED the Public Hearing be closed at 7:58 p.m.

RESOLVED the Town Board waives the 30-day written notice of sale as set forth in the easement from Paul and Susan Maier to the Town of Macedon for the reason the Town acknowledged prior verbal notification.

As a result of the presentation Ora Rothfuss gave on farmland preservation, the Town of Macedon has two (2) residents interested. Councilman Maul asked for a map of current farms in the program. Supervisor Hammond will ask Mr. Rothfuss to supply.
Supervisor Hammond and Assessor Sandy Smith visited the property Lone Wolf is interested in buying on Rt. 31 from the Town. Mrs. Smith estimated the value of the 2 acres between $15,000-$18,000. Proceeds from this sale must be used for improvements on the property due to the land being acquired from IDA. There are several improvements that could be done on the remaining property.
Councilman Maul recommended the asking price of $15,000.
Trustee Ronald DeMena stated the Village Board voted to lower the active member age to 16 for the Fire Department. He asked for a letter of support from the Town Board for the downtown revitalization grant the Village is trying to secure. It was the consensus that Supervisor Hammond would send a letter.

RESOLVED the Board enters Executive Session at 8:50 p.m. to discuss particular personnel issues and invites Chief Colella and Highway Superintendent Roets to attend.
