A Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Macedon held August 11, 2005 at the Town Offices, 32 Main Street, in the Village of Macedon, was called to order by Supervisor William H. Hammond at 7:30 p.m.

Upon Roll Call, the following members of the Board were present:

Councilman David Maul was absent due to vacation and Councilman Paul Kenyon was absent due to injurys he received in a automobile accident earlier in the week.

Sandy Pagano representing the Macedon Community Revitalization Partnership spoke requesting a letter of endorsement so that the committee may begin to solicite donations for materials to build a welcoming focal point at the corner of Route 31 and Route 350. It was the consensus of the Board to write a letter of endorsement.

RESOLUTION NO. 241 (05) APPROVAL OF REPORTS

RESOLVED the Board approves the Monthly Police Report for July 2005 as submitted.

RESOLVED that Resolution No. 187(05) be corrected as follows:

RESOLUTION NO. 243 (05) LIBRARY/ TOWN COMPLEX DOORS

WHEREAS the Town of Macedon cooperatively worked with Wayne County Buildings and Grounds to acquire bids for a Low Energy Heavy Duty Single Swing Door for the Town of Macedon and

WHEREAS two quotes were obtained as follows:

Imperial Door Controls Inc. $6,650

Energy Savers $7,280

BE IT RESOLVED the Town Board awards the bid to Imperial Door Controls, Inc. at a bid price not to exceed $6,650 and authorizes the Supervisor to sign said proposal pending Wayne County Board of Supervisors approval to be expensed from HA1621.200C

CORRESPONDENCE

Town Historian, Helen Burgio, received a letter of thanks for a job well done from a couple that was doing genealogy research on the Purdy family. Helen was so helpful and they were so impressed with Helens knowledge that they sent a donation to Helen to help with her work.

Peter Henry, Trails Committee, is to receive the state Canal Trail Tender Award on September 12, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Macedon Police Chief, John Ellis, will be attending an Impact Evaluation Group September 7-9 in St. Louis, Missouri, at no cost to the town.

Officer John Colella will be attending a training seminar for new narcotics equipment September 18-20 in St. Louis, Misssouri, at no cost to the town. Upon completion of the course the equipment is awarded to the town, due to a grant that the department applied for in September of 2004.

RESOLUTION NO. 244 (05) FARMLAND PRESERVATION APPRAISALS

RESOLVED the Board authorizes the Supervisor to sign agreement for farmland protection appraisals with Pomeroy Appraisals Inc.and approves the town to contribute 1/3 of the appraisal cost.

RESOLUTION NO. 245 (05) WAIVE READING OF LEGAL NOTICE

RESOLVED the Town Board waives reading of the legal notice published in the August 1, 2005 issue of the Times.

Mr. Bob Cantwell spoke on behalf of Mr. Fabio, explaining the plan for development.

Lavern Morrison , 1500 Wayneport Rd questioned if homes would be on sewer, if a retention pond is required, and road location.

Renee & David Benz, 1447 Wayneport Rd. questioned if Wayneport Rd. residents would be required to hookup to sewer and the buffering of existing homes to new development.

Anthony Quinn, 1471 Wayneport Rd. has cottonwood tress along his backyard and would like to keep them and wondered if people on Wayneport could hook up to sewer lines coming into new development.

Greg Slezak, 1395 Wayneport Rd. stated he signed petition with other Wayneport Rd residents saying they do not object to the re-zoning as long as the use of the site does not exceed 47 single family homes/no multi-family uses.

The petition was then signed by Mr. and Mrs. Benz and Mr. Lavern Morrison.

Councilman Nawrocki stated that the Board would not make a decision tonight, the Board would like the other Board members to be able to put in their opinions. Mr. Nawrocki will not be at the next Board meeting due to a business trip, so he informed those in attendance that he was for the development and felt that Mr. Fabio, owner and developer of the project did a good job in his design.
