TOWN OF MACEDON

PLANNING BOARD

September 13, 2010

 

 

PRESENT:  Vice Chairman Mert Bartels and members Suzanne Airy, Mark McEwen, Tom Morrison, Kevin Rooney and Greg Whitney.  Also present were Town Councilman David McEwen, Town Engineer Scott Allen and Board Clerk Susan Bush.  Absent was Chairman Doug Allen.

 

Vice Chairman Bartels called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  A motion to waive reading the Legal Notice was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Greg Whitney.  All in favor; motion carried.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

 

PB-08-10 – ANKOM Corp. – 2052 O’Neill Road – Site plan modification for building expansion – A motion to open the public hearing was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.  Present in support of this application were ANKOM owner Andy Komarek, civil engineer Kris Schultz of Schultz Associates, and contractors Matthew Brooks and Chad Brooks of MGB Building Inc.  There was no one else to speak for or against this application.  A motion to close the public hearing was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.

 

PB-09-10 – VanLaeken – 3108 & 3242 Daansen Road – Two-lot realty subdivision – A motion to open the public hearing was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.  Present on behalf of the applicant were engineers Fred Shelley and David Matthews of Shelley Associates.  There was no one else present to speak for or against this application.  A motion to close the public hearing was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Tom Morrison.  All in favor; motion carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

PB-08-10 – ANKOM Corp. – 2052 O’Neil Road – Site plan modification for building expansion – Final – ANKOM develops and manufactures analytical chemistry products; i.e., devices to measure nutritional content in foods and animal feeds.  Mr. Komarek stated this expansion would give them needed additional manufacturing space.  Kris Schultz of Schultz Associates reviewed the project, including concerns raised by the Wayne County Planning Board regarding placement of warning signs on O’Neill Road for truck traffic.  The site plan has been revised to add requested storm sewer, and a storm water pollution prevention plan has been developed.  A motion for negative SEQR declaration was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Tom Morrison.  All in favor; motion carried.  A motion to approve the site plan modification for ANKOM Corp. was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.

 

PB-09-10 – VanLaeken – 3108 & 3242 Daansen Road – Two-lot realty subdivision – Preliminary & final – Fred Shelley of Shelley Associates reviewed this request.  The owners of the two parcels (VanLaeken) would like to sell the commercial greenhouse property, including a greenhouse building which encroaches on the joint property line (Parcel B).  In addition, an area of lawn on the greenhouse property will be transferred to the residential property (Parcel A).  The two properties share a common driveway with easements in place.  A motion for negative SEQR declaration was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.  A motion to grant this two-lot subdivision request was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy.  All in favor; motion carried.

 

MINUTES:

 

A motion to approve the 08-23-10 minutes was made by Suzanne Airy, seconded by Mark McEwen.  All in favor; minutes approved.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Suzanne Airy, seconded by Kevin Rooney.  All in favor; meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
