TOWN OF MACEDON
PLANNING BOARD
May 12, 2008
PRESENT: Chairman Doug Allen, members Suzanne Airy, Mert Bartels, Mark McEwen, Tom Morrison and Kevin
Rooney. Also present were Councilman Ken
Nawrocki, Town Engineer Scott Allen and Board Clerk
Susan Bush. Absent was Brian Gagne.
Chairman Allen called the meeting
to order at 7:34 p.m. A motion to waive
reading the Legal Notice was made by Mert Bartels,
seconded by Kevin Rooney. All in favor;
motion carried.
PUBLIC HEARING:
PB-04-08 Littlefield Quaker
Road One-lot realty subdivision &
residential site plan A motion to open the public hearing was made by Kevin
Rooney, seconded by Mert Bartels. All in favor; motion carried. Applicant Thomas Littlefield was present. There was no one else present to speak for or
against this application. A motion to
close the public hearing was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Mark
McEwen. All in favor; motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
PB-04-08 Littlefield Quaker
Road One-lot realty subdivision &
residential site plan Discussion was deferred until the next meeting on
06-09-08 to allow for Wayne County Planning Board input.
PB-09-07 Duffy (SuperSeal) Quaker Road
Architectural approval Dave Matthews, Matthews Consulting, and Greg Duffy
were present. As part of final site plan,
the applicant was required to obtain approval of the proposed buildings
exterior prior to receiving a building permit.
This will be a metal pole building, tan walls with dark green roof. Sample materials were submitted as well as
photographs of a similar pole building in the town. Board
approved the colors as submitted.
Building permit will be released to the applicant.
NEW BUSINESS:
At this point, Chairman Allen recused himself from all discussion/voting, and Vice Chairman
Bartels assumed leadership of the meeting.
PB-06-08 Graf Macedon
Center Road Residential site plan with
small business Sketch Engineer Jason Monroe was present on behalf of the
applicant. Proposal is for a
single-family residence of approximately 2,500 sq. ft. with an accessory pole
barn to house a small landscaping business.
House would be located approximately 400 ft. back from the road on top
of a knoll. The pole barn would be
behind the knoll and not visible from the road.
Property is currently an agricultural field, and the applicant intends
to have it remain as such, leasing the land to a farmer and/or using portions
of it for nursery stock. A motion to
grant sketch plan approval was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Tom Morrison. All in favor; motion carried (D. Allen recused).
Chairman Allen then resumed
leadership of the meeting.
ZBA REFERRAL:
Z-01-08 Pride Signs 1900 Route 31 (West Wayne Plaza)
Area Variance Sections 135-190-E & 135-191-B Ground sign larger than allowed
& multiple businesses on one sign As part of property upgrades, the
owners of West Wayne Plaza would like to replace the pylon sign. Board members gave a positive referral;
however, they felt design should be more substantial and consistent with similar
signs like Wal-Mart and Lowes. This
issue will be addressed when the applicant comes before the Planning Board for
approval as part of the sign permit process.

minutes was made by Kevin Rooney, seconded by Suzanne Airy. All in favor; minutes approved.
